President Taft’s military review stand in Beverly, MA, 4 July 1912. He spent his summers as President in a mansion on what is now Lynch Park. The home was nicknamed the Summer White House.
President Coolidge once sat next to a reporter at a White House dinner. She said to him “I bet someone I could get more than two words out of you.” His response? “You Lose.” Hence the nickname Silent Cal.
