If a John Wayne character were to exist in real life, they would be Ted Williams. The Greatest Hitter ever. One of the top 10 Fishermen of all time. A fighter pilot in two wars… the man did it all. He even has been credited with getting one of his old fighter pilot pals elected President of the U.S.A.
I think Ted Williams is the type of old school guy our country is lacking right now. Just my opinion.

Part 1 of a documentary on Luis Tiant’s return to Cuba after 46 years in exile. Click through for parts 2-7 on YouTube. In the early 1960’s Tiant, a top Cuban baseball prospect, was forced to flee his country or be forced to lose any chance of a future in his career of choice thanks to the country’s violent and oppressive communist revolution. Tiant was just one of thousands of Cubans who chose life in America over life in a homeland where the right to free will, free thought, and free expression were destroyed by the communist regime.
